About the Cast
Zhou Xun (周迅)

A versatile Chinese artiste in music, TV and film, Zhou was crowned
Best Actress for Yan Yu Hong Yan at the 2002 Hundred Flowers Film
Awards in China. She caught the international limelight with the
1999 TV serial April Rhapsody, which was released throughout Europe.
She was crowned Best Actress at the Paris Film Festival in 2000 for
Suzhou River. Next she starred in The Little Chinese Seamstress, a
Sino-French co-production, and was awarded Best Newcomer by the
Brand Ingrid Millet Paris. Zhou was nominated for Best Actress at
the 39th Golden Horse Awards for Hollywood Hong Kong. Her foray into
singing was also rewarded with the Best Newcomer award at the 2003
Chinese Pop Chart Awards. Zhou has starred in numerous TV serials,
including Legend Of The Condor Heroes where she portrayed the
heroine Huang Rong. With her folk dance training at the Hangzhou
arts school, Zhou is virtuoso in both singing and dancing.
Takeshi Kaneshiro (金城武)

Takeshi Kaneshiro entered showbiz in 1992 as a singer, and went on
to star in such acclaimed films as Wong Kar-wai’s Chungking Express
and Fallen Angels, Johnnie To’s Turn Left, Turn Right, and Zhang
Yimou’s House Of Flying Daggers, which was nominated for Best
Foreign Film at the Golden Globe Awards in the US. A huge star in
Hong Kong and Taiwan, Kaneshiro’s popularity also extends to Japan,
where he has starred in high-profile titles including Space
Travelers and Returner.
Jacky Cheung (張學友)

Jacky Cheung was brought to the attention of the world with his
performance in A Chinese Ghost Story III in 1991. Cheung has been
awarded Best Supporting Actor twice in his career, first at the 8th
Hong Kong Film Awards for Wong Kar-wai’s As Tears Go By; then at the
24th Golden Horse Awards in Taiwan for King Hu’s Swordsman. He has
achieved the same status in his music, winning Favorite Asian Artist
at the 1994 U.S. Billboard Awards, and the Top-Grossing Chinese
Singer consecutively at the 1995 and 1996 Monte Carlo World Music
Awards. He is a recipient of Hong Kong’s Ten Outstanding Young
Persons Award in 1998, and he also received an award as one of the
world’s ten most outstanding young persons the following year.
Cheung is the mastermind behind the top-grossing musical Snow Wolf
Lake, widely regarded as the cornerstone of Hong Kong musicals. It
featured various dulcet classics that showcased Cheung’s gifted
voice. The musical was performed in both Cantonese and Mandarin, in
1997 and 2005, respectively.
Ji Jin-hee (池真熙)

Born in 1971, Ji Jin-hee is a graduate of Korea’s Myongji University
– Department of Mechanical Engineering. He starred in the romantic
comedy Miss Kim's Million Dollar Quest (2004) and subsequently won
the SBS Drama Awards. He entered Korean showbiz as an actor in 2000,
debuting in the drama-serial Juliet's Man. This was followed by TV
serials, Stories Of Four Sisters, Love Letter and the film,
H:Murmurs. The acclaimed series Jewel In The Palace (2003) marked
the pinnacle of his career. His portrayal of the kind-hearted Min
Jong-ho became a household name throughout Asia. Ji’s other
distinguished performance was in Spring Day, the ratings champion
adapted from the Japanese serial Die Sterntaler.
About The Crew
Director : Peter Chan (陳可辛)
Peter Ho-Sun Chan is one of Hong Kong’s most critically acclaimed
film directors. His directorial debut in 1991, Alan & Eric: Between
Hello And Goodbye, was crowned Best Film at The Directors Guild Of
Hong Kong. He founded United Filmmakers Organization (UFO) in the
early 1990s and has produced and directed films that were both
critical and commercial successes.1994’s He’s A Woman, She’s A Man
was awarded The Best Film Of The Year by The Directors Guild Of Hong
Kong which also honored him The Best Director that year. His most
lauded work, Comrades, Almost A Love Story (1997) swept the Hong
Kong Film Awards winning an unprecedented nine awards, including
Best Film and Director. It also won six Golden Bauhinia Awards and
two Golden Horse Awards. Comrades, Almost A Love Story was one of
Time magazine’s top 10 movies of 1997. In 1998, Chan was voted one
of the top 10 directors to watch by Variety magazine. That year,
Chan made his first foray into Hollywood directing The Love Letter
for DreamWorks. Chan’s latest picture is Perhaps Love, his first
musical and a major breakthrough in his career.
Producer : Andre Morgan
A partner of the Ruddy Morgan Organization (RMO), Andre Morgan was a
producer of Golden Harvest’s Enter The Dragon and Game Of Death,
both starring Bruce Lee. These films introduced Hong Kong martial
arts cinema to the world. Morgan turned Hong Kong’s Golden Harvest
into one of the largest movie companies in Asia by 1984, proving his
ability to successfully manage a foreign-based enterprise. He is a
veteran producer of acclaimed film and TV projects, including the
top-rated action serial Martial Law for CBS, which made Sammo Hung a
household name in the United States. Together with partner, Al
Ruddy, Morgan has produced over 35 features films and 400 hours of
television over the past 20 years.
RMO produced Million Dollar Baby, starring Hilary Swank and Morgan
Freeman, directed by Clint Eastwood, which won four Oscars --Best
Picture, Best Director, Best Actress and Best Supporting Actor. RMO
has recently produced and put together deals for The Longest Yard,
starring Adam Sandler and Chris Rock; Cloud Nine, starring Burt
Reynolds and Gabrielle Reese and White Countess, starring Ralph
Fiennes and Vanessa Redgrave.
Morgan was credited with molding the careers of cinematographer Dean
Semler, who won an Oscar for Dances With Wolves, martial arts
legend, Bruce Lee, director John Woo and actor Jackie Chan. Morgan
also provides invaluable counsel to Chinese, Australian and European
talents who wish to make the cross-over to American film.
Cinemtograoher : Peter Pau (鮑德熹)
In 2001, Peter Pau nabbed the Best Cinematography awards from the
Film Critics Societies in Boston, Chicago and New York for Crouching
Tiger, Hidden Dragon, and ultimately at the 73rd Academy Awards. He
is heralded as one of the elite cinematographers in Hong Kong. Pau
was raised in a family of renowned actors. Pau has been passionate
about the arts since childhood. After graduating from high school in
Guangzhou, he continued his studies at the San Francisco Art
Institute in the United States. He graduated in 1984 and returned to
Hong Kong, where he helmed his directorial debut Temptation Of
Dance. With the referral of his brother-in-law, famous actor, Fang
Ping, Pau took on the role of cinematographer for The Story Of Hay
Bo and thus began his life-long career. He is a three-time winner
for Best Cinematography at the Hong Kong Film Awards, for A Fishy
Story, Saviour Of The Soul and The Bride With White Hair.
Scriptwriter : Audrey Lam Oi Wah (林愛華)
Graduated from Hong Kong University, later moving to L.A. to study
for amasters degree in cinema, Lam is known for Purple Storm, Who’s
the Man, Who’s the Womanand Golden Chicken 2. Twelve Nights was her
first directed film, of which she was also the screenplay writer.
Scriptwriter : Raymond To Kwok-Wai (杜國威)
Having written more than one hundred scripts in the last twenty
years, To is best known for Shanghai Blues, Peking Opera Blues,
Shanghai Shanghai, To Spy with Love, I Have a Date with Spring, and
Hu-Du-Men. He was also the winner for Best Screenplay Writer at the
Hong Kong Film Awards for I Have a Date with Spring and Naam Hoi Sap
Saam Long. In 1997, he won the best Adapted Screenplay Award at the
Golden Horse Film Award for Love Go Go. He has also been nominated
for best Screenplay twice at the Hong Kong Film Awards.
Dance Choreographer : Farah Khan
The hottest dance choreographer in Bollywood, Khan was nominated for
Best Dance Choreography at Broadway’s 2004 Tony Awards in the U.S. A
seasoned singer and dancer, she is renowned for visualizing
intangible tunes with mesmerizing dance sequences. Khan is heralded
as the magnate of Bollywood musical films, for her stylish makeover
of the commercial yet historical Bollywood genre. Her choreography
is staged with grandeur and the passion and joy of Indian dance, but
with a modern touch. Khan once admitted that her role models are
Michael Jackson and Gene Kelly. She has been a choreographer since
1992 for such films as Monsoon Wedding (2001), Dil Chahta Hai
(2001), Kal Ho Naa Ho (2003) and Vanity Fair (2004). She is a
regular award winner at major Indian film festivals, including the
International Indian Film Academy and Filmfare Awards. Her talents
caught the attention of musical magnate Andrew Lloyd Webber (Phantom
Of The Opera), who invited her to choreograph for his latest work,
Bombay Dreams.
Composer : Peter Kam (金培達)
A versatile musician who received his education from the San
Francisco State University and Grove School of Music, Kam is an avid
composer, arranger and producer for pop singers, commercials and
films. In 1988 he won an award for the Best Original Score at the
36th Golden Horse Awards for Purple Storm. He is a multiple winner
of the Hong Kong Film Awards, including Best Original Score and Best
Film Song for Fly Me To Polaris, and Best Original Score for Lost In
Time. For Fly Me To Polaris, Kam composed the heart-wrenching tune
for the famous Cecilia Cheung weeping scenes, which propelled the
audience’s emotion to the pinnacle. His other distinguished works
include The Accidental Spy, Tokyo Raiders, Three: Going Home, and
Inner Senses. Kam also composed the theme songs of Para Para Sakura
and Turn Left, Turn Right, which took the Best Arrangement Awards
and the Ten Best Solid Gold Award, respectively at the Jade Solid
Gold Awards. Kam is also a composer of numerous Canto pop tunes for
such prominent singers as Eason Chan and Jordan Chan.
Composer : Leon Ko (高世章)
A composer and arranger who graduated from Northwestern University
in the U.S., with a masters degree in Musical Theatre Writing
Program from New York University. Ko won the 2001 Richard Rodgers
Development Awards for his original musical, Heading East. His works
have been performed at the Carnegie Hall and the Public Broadcasting
Service (PBS). His first Cantonese musical The Good Person Of
Szechwan (2003) won Best Musical at the 13th Hong Kong Drama Awards
of the Hong Kong Federation of Drama Societies. Its fast pace and
score kept the audience’s hearts pounding. The Chinese orchestra
featured traditional instrument which successfully complemented the
characters’ psychological states, and heightened their emotional
struggle between selfishness and conscience. Ko also composed for
Chung Ying Theatre’s Cross-mopolitan which was a part of the 2002
New Vision Arts Festival. Ko has collaborated with various local
singers including Andy Lau, Leo Ku, Alice Lau, Jeff Chang and the
Grasshoppers. His latest project is as music director for Jacky
Cheung’s musical, Snow Wolf Lake, which has been touring across
China and Hong Kong.
Production Designer : Yee Chung-man (奚仲文)
One of the hottest production designers in Hong Kong and a long time
collaborator of Peter Ho-Sun Chan, Yee was a three-time winner of
Best Art Direction at the Hong Kong Film Awards for his work in A
Chinese Ghost Story, Once Upon A Time In China and Comrades, Almost
A Love Story, as well as a Best Costume Design award for The Twins
Effect. Yee has worked for numerous films, commercials, concerts and
TV dramas, as well as costume and image design. Every piece of work
attests to his versatility and aesthetic. He helmed Jackie Cheung’s
musical, Snow Wolf Lake in 1996, and two films, Anna Magdalena and
And I Hate You So. In 2003 and 2004, Yee was production designer for
various high-profile films, including Golden Chicken 1 and 2, Three:
Going Home and Three Extreme: Dumplings. His latest work is Perhaps
Love
